Bresolin, Nicodema (nee Baldin) 

Passed away peacefully on September 21, 2026 at Sun Parlor Nursing home at the age of 101. Predeceased by her beloved husband Guiseppe “Joe”. Beloved daughter of the late Rizzerio and Regina Baldin (nee Antonelli). Cherished mother of Lucia Bresolin (Sergio), Angela Bresolin, the late baby Loris, Loretta Bresolin-Randall (Brad), Loris Bresolin (Nancy), Elsa Duic (John), Gregory Bresolin (Lisa) and Sandra Bresolin (Ian). Loving nonna to Giordano (Emily), Fabio, Rachel (Eric), Sarah, Daniel, Evan, Adria, Gabriel and Quinnton and bis nonna to Philippa. Dear sister of Miglietta, Vittorio, Adriana and their families and predeceased by her siblings Silvio, Romilda, Giovanni, Silene and Teresina. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

In 1952, Nicodema immigrated to Canada to join her beloved husband, Giuseppe, who had arrived a couple of years earlier to establish a home for them. Shortly after her arrival, they were married in Amherstburg and began building their life together. She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who took great pride in providing for and caring for her family. She worked for several years as a labourer at Reflex Manufacturing, while dedicated to managing her home and raising her family. Her greatest joy, however, was her family and the life they built together in Canada. 

Nicodema found joy in so many of life’s simple pleasures. She was a wonderful cook, well known for her many famous recipes that brought family and friends together around her table. She had a deep love of gardening, with roses holding a particularly special place in her heart. She also enjoyed the quiet creativity of needlepoint. Whatever she took on she did with an eye to obtaining the best possible result. Above all, Nicodema cherished the company of her family and friends. Her home was always a welcoming place, with a pot of coffee on and a chair at the table for anyone who happened to stop by. She had a special way of making people feel welcome, loved and at home. 

Visitation took place at the James H. Sutton Funeral Home, 401 Sandwich Street South, Amherstburg, 519-736-2134 on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 3-7 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at St. John the Baptist Church for funeral Mass, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery .
