It is with very broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Anna Menna on August 1st, 2026 at the age of 95. Now reunited with her beloved husband Rocco (2023). 

Loving mother to Mary and Romeo (2012) Faccenda, and Rose and Joe Capaldi. 

Beloved Nonna to Davide and Francine Faccenda, Stefania and Luc Blanchard, Adam and Dragana Faccenda, Sara and David Di Ponio, Eric and Leslie Faccenda. 

Dear Bis-Nonna to Romeo, Sofia, Nino, Evangeline, Julia, Mina, Marcello, Camillo, Leonardo, and Ariel.  They all loved singing and dancing with their Nonna Anna.

Predeceased by her parents Francesco and Concetta D’Ascanio, and her loving sisters Mariuccia, Angiolina, Antonietta, and her very dear brother Pietro. 

Anna will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada, USA, Belgium, and Italy. 

Anna’s very first job right after arriving in Canada from Roccamorice, Italy, was making car parts at Car Steel in Windsor. Anna also spent many years working for the Charette family in LaSalle, ironing Confirmation gowns and later Anna was a very dedicated employee of Reflex /Windsor Plastics for many years. 

Anna loved gathering with friends to play scopa. She also spent numerous hours crocheting bedspreads for all her grandchildren. Anna also really enjoyed spending time with Rocco tending to their chickens, rabbits and their very lush garden and took much pride canning and freezing their plentiful crops and loved sharing them with friends and family. Anna thoroughly enjoyed spending hours cooking and baking in her kitchen. Her family and friends always enjoyed her delicious meals, pastries and espresso coffee, and most especially her famous Sponge Cake! Anna’s love of cooking and baking was one of the ways she showed her love for her family, passing down her treasured recipes, memories and traditions for her grandchildren to cherish forever!! 

Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Richmond Terrace for the exceptional care they showed our mother, whom they called “Bella Nonna”. Their gentle hearts, unwavering support and genuine affection brought comfort not only to our mom, but to our entire family. We will always be deeply grateful. 

Donations to Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor Essex County or St. John the Baptist Building Fund would be greatly appreciated. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 18th from 2-4pm and again from 6-8pm, Parish prayers at 7:30pm. On Wednesday, August 19th funeral leaving from Families First Funeral Home, 585 Sandwich St., S, Amherstburg, Ont. (519)969-5841 at 10:30am going in procession to St. John the Baptist Church for Mass of Christian burial at 11am. Entombment to follow at St. John the Baptist Mausoleum.
