June 10, 1930 - March 19, 2026


Dupont, Renee Marie Therese (nee Bernier) passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 in Amherstburg, ON surrounded by family at 95 years of age. Reunited with her beloved husband John (2017) of 65 years. Loving mother of Danielle, Marc, the late Gilles (1974), Pierre, Louis (Nathalie Gaudreau), Jose (Theresa Whelan), and Paul (Roxana Mavai). Beloved Grandmaman of Natalie, Alberto, Marc Alexandre, Katherine (David Petras), and Charles. Great-grandmaman of Emilie. Survived by her sister and best friend Madeleine Mathieu (late Christian); and Huguette Bernier. Predeceased by her brothers Yvan Bernier (late Vignola), Armand Bernier (Ange- Aimee), Jean-Yves Bernier (Jeanne). Dear Sister-in-law to the late Raymond and Thelma Dupont of St. Lazare, MB. She will be sadly missed by extended family and dear friends. Renee was born in Quebec City, QC; and attended the University Laval where she met John. Once married and with children in tow, they moved to Manitoba, then to Saskatchewan and Quebec, to further John’s career. Together they raised 7 children. During this time, Renee worked as an accomplished seamstress for Richard Robinson Designs in Ottawa. A lifelong learner, Renee returned to the University of Ottawa for a degree in Child Psychology. They moved to Ontario, and then to BC, and then lastly back to Ontario. Renee was thoughtful, kind, gentle, loving, generous, intelligent, beautiful and talented. Always ready with a hug and a smile. Thank you to the caring staff at Richmond Terrace in Amherstburg. If you desire the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer's Society, or a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and a memorial to honour Renee will be on Friday, April 17th, 2026 at Families First (585 Sandwich St. S, Amherstburg, ON). Visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. - 11:30a.m., with a service at 11:30a.m.. Arrangements entrusted to Families First Funeral Home Amherstburg.
