It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Bruce Browning on September 5, 2026, at the age of 64. 

Bob and Kristy (nee Williams) Browning were married for 42 years. They met in high school and became high school sweethearts. They went on to build a life together, raising their family and sharing many good times and memories along the way. They shared many years together as a family and made the most of the life they built together. 

While Bob’s sudden passing has left a deep emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, we find comfort in knowing that Bob is now at peace. His struggles are over, and he is no longer hurting. 

Bob was a generous, caring, and kind-hearted man, always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and anyone who needed him. He gave freely of his time, his energy, and whatever he could to help others, never expecting anything in return. His generosity was simply part of who he was, and his kindness touched the lives of many. 

Bob loved the outdoors and was a true sportsman. He was a proud member of the AMA Sportsman Club and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He also had a great love for car racing and enjoyed being an official alongside Kristy and David, sharing many good times and memories together. 

Bob also shared a special bond with his daughter Sara, creating many cherished memories and moments together that she will carry in her heart always. 

He especially loved sharing his passion for the outdoors with his grandson, Caden. The two shared a very special bond, and many of Bob’s happiest moments were spent outdoors with Caden by his side. Caden was not only his grandson, but his sidekick and a very special part of his life. 

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Kristy; his son, David Browning; his daughter, Sara Browning (Bill Ruth); and his cherished grandson, Caden Ruth. 

He was the beloved son of Joan Browning and the late Bruce Browning (2019). 

Bob will also be greatly missed by his siblings, Peg Cozens (Bert), Steve Browning, Patty Batiste (Lorne), and Norm Browning (Cecile); his brother-in-law, Randy Williams (deceased 2017); and sister-in-law, Tammy (Williams) Barkovsky. 

He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom will carry their own special memories of Bob in their hearts. 

Bob spent 30 years working at General Motors Transmission, retiring in 2010 at the age of 48 when the plant closed. He continued working various jobs until he was hired at Manor Tool & Die, where he retired again in August 2017. 

It was then that Bob and Kristy took in their grandson, Caden, who became his sidekick and kept Bob busy, active, and enjoying life. Their special bond brought Bob many happy moments and memories that will be treasured forever. 

Bob’s family will forever remember his generous heart, his willingness to help others, his strong work ethic, his love of the outdoors and car racing, and especially the special bonds he shared with his children and grandson. 

Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to James H. Sutton Funeral Home (519-736-2134) 401 Sandwich St. S., Amherstburg, ON. 

A service celebrating Bob’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Church Anglican, 317 Ramsay Street, Amherstburg, Ontario, with Rev. Lisa Poultney officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association of Windsor Essex County. 

Rest peacefully, Bob. Your struggles are over, and you are now at peace. You will be deeply missed, remembered with love, and forever in our hearts.
