Amherstburg Food and Fellowship Mission gives thanks for support during 2025

As another year comes to a close, we want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the people of Amherstburg for the incredible support shown to the Amherstburg Food and Fellowship Mission throughout the year. Your generosity, compassion, and willingness to help do not go unnoticed and are never taken for granted.

We are deeply grateful for the many volunteers who continue to step forward to support the Mission. It truly takes many hands to do this work, and with some of our long-time volunteers aging and others experiencing burnout, the arrival of new faces has been a tremendous blessing. Every extra set of hands makes a difference, and we are so thankful to those who have chosen to give their time and energy to help others.

This year, we were fortunate to have two major fundraisers — our annual golf tournament and the release of the Amherstburg Celebrity Cookbook. In addition, we are extremely appreciative of the many can drives and fundraising efforts organized on our behalf. Local businesses, schools, churches, service clubs, unions, and individuals all stepped up to plan and run events in support of the Mission. Organizing fundraisers requires significant time and resources, so having others take on the heavy lifting for us is something we value immensely.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Town of Amherstburg for their ongoing support, and especially for allowing us to operate a booth at the Uncommon Festival and retain the proceeds. Opportunities like this make a meaningful impact on our ability to serve the community.

Times continue to be challenging, and we understand that the need for our services will continue to grow in the year ahead.

Even so, we have strong faith in our community and take comfort in knowing that Amherstburg has always found a way to care for its own.

Our hope is that anyone who finds themselves in need — now or in the future — will find a welcoming and supportive resource at the Amherstburg Food and Fellowship Mission, whether they are seeking a hot lunch, a monthly food basket, clothing, fellowship, or simply a place where they are treated with dignity and respect.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us. Your kindness and generosity make our work possible.
