Storm causes damage across area
A violent storm came through the area last Friday evening, causing trees to come down and hydro to be lost for many residents for a portion of the weekend. A large tree was uprooted in front of the Belle Vue property and the roof was damaged as a result of the storm. A powerful thunderstorm rolled through Windsor-Essex County last Friday evening, and left damage and power outages in its wake. Fatal house fire subject of arson investigation
The Windsor Police Service states it is conducting an arson investigation following a fatal house fire on Texas Road last Friday night. According to Windsor police, officers responded to an active residential fire in the 100 block of Texas Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. July 3. The Amherstburg Fire Department were also dispatched and successfully extinguished the blaze, police say. Firefighters located a 47-year-old man during a search of the residence.
