Cops stop three alleged stunt drivers

Windsor Police says its traffic enforcement unit stopped three motorists for allegedly stunt driving in separate incidents in Amherstburg last Sunday.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., officers stopped an 18-year-old male for allegedly travelling 142 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone in the 7000 block of County Road 9 (Howard Ave). Later that day, at around 9 p.m., officers stopped a 22-year-old motorcyclist for allegedly travelling 104 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone in the 100 block of Texas Road.
At 11:30 p.m. May 10, police say officers stopped a 19-year-old motorist allegedly travelling 167 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone in the 7100 block of County Road 9.
All three individuals had their vehicles impounded for 14 days and their licences suspended for 30 days. Additional penalties may apply once the matters proceed to court, police add.
Windsor police says stunt driving puts everyone at risk. Police asks that drivers please respect speed limits and make safe driving a priority.
