Anderdon boys basketball team wins multiple titles

The boys basketball team at Anderdon Public School have just completed an unforgettable season.
The Mustangs captured the WECCA, Pronger and District titles as part of them having an undefeated season. In all, the basketball team went 18-0 over the course of this season.
Drew Middleton, who coached the Anderdon boys basketball team with Stuart Smith, said it is the first time that anyone at the school can recall the basketball team going undefeated and picking up three championships in the same season.
“We had a really good group of kids,” said Middleton.
The Mustangs worked hard and had a lot of talent, he pointed out.
“Perfect team, perfect record,” Middleton stated. “It was really exciting.”
Practices started last November with four practices per week.
Middleton added the players were good about being at practice and not missing games. Middleton said it was the first time many of the players had competed for championships.
“It’s pretty awesome,” he said.
By winning the regional championship, it meant they were not only the best elementary team in Essex County but they defeated teams from Windsor as well.
“We worked well together,” added Smith. “It’s as good as it gets.”
Smith added the Anderdon Public School parent council have been supportive of the boys basketball team and purchased sweatshirts for the players and coaches with their list of championships embroidered on it.
The team thanked all of its supporters and fans, who they believed help contribute to their magical season.
