Man facing sexual assault charges allegedly involving a youth

The Windsor Police Service has charged a 41-year-old man following an investigation into the sexual assault complaint regarding a youth. 

Police says that on Aug. 16, shortly after 2 p.m., officers with Windsor Police Amherstburg Detachment responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a 15-year-old girl. 

Investigators learned that the youth allegedly had been sexually assaulted by an adult male known to her. 

The man also allegedly requested and received intimate images and videos of the victim through a social media platform. 

The youth later disclosed the incidents to her mother, who contacted police. Officers located and arrested the suspect that same day. 

The accused has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and telecommunication with a person under the age of 18.
