September policing stats released publicly as part of council meeting
Amherstburg Town Hall. The September statistics for the Windsor Police Service – Amherstburg Detachment were released last week. The statistics appeared on town council’s Oct. 27 agenda and those stats included 675 dispatch generated incidents for the month and 14 walk-in incidents. There were 255 traffic offenses last month with 15 Part III summons. There were six offenses classified as “Other Provincial Offenses.” There were 13 calls classified as community services/COAST.

Alleged stunt driver stopped on Howard Ave.
The Windsor Police Service – Amherstburg Detachment states that an officer was conducting radar in the 7000 block of County Road 9 (Howard Ave.) Oct. 20, at approximately 9:45 p.m. At this time, the officer clocked a vehicle allegedly travelling at 145 km/hr in the posted 80 km/hr zone.
