Seasons Amherstburg held a friendly “Casino Night” recently with games and fun for the residents and their families. Proceeds go towards the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation’s “Show Us Your Brave” campaign.

People had a chance to try their luck at some games and help raise some money for a good cause at the same time.

Seasons Amherstburg held “Casino Night” recently with games set up in common areas around the first floor of the local retirement home.

Residents, families and friends could have some friendly fun on the games.

“We’ve got games and we are having fun while raising money for our fundraiser,” explained fun manager Ellie Weese at the May 28 fundraiser.

Weese said the money will go towards the “Show Us Your Brave” campaign put on by the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.

There is one staff member involved this year, with participating being to rappel down the CIBC building in downtown Windsor as part of the campaign.

The “Casino Night” was mainly advertised internally and Weese said they were raising funds to go towards the $1,500 it takes to be part of the “Show Us Your Brave” campaign.

“This is part of it,” she said, of the fundraising efforts.

Seasons Amherstburg will be continuing to fundraise, including scratch tickets and other money-raising avenues as they seek to come up to their $1,500 goal for the “Show Us your Brave” campaign.

Volunteers from the community, including the Rotary Club of Amherstburg, were on hand to help out at “Casino Night.”
