Four people face stunt driving charges including one in Amherstburg

The Windsor Police Service says four drivers face stunt driving charges, including one in Amherstburg.

All four drivers were stopped by police June 18.

The Amherstburg matter occurred at roughly 10:45 p.m. in a parking lot in the 400 block of Sandwich St. S. It is alleged a 31-year-old driver was stopped for doing donuts, almost striking several concrete parking stop blocks. 

Windsor police’s traffic enforcement unit stopped the other three motorists in Windsor. 

Shortly after 7 p.m., Windsor police say officers stopped a 31-year-old male for allegedly travelling 124 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone in the 2200 block of South Cameron Blvd. At the same time, another officer stopped a 21-year-old male for allegedly travelling 94 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone in the 2300 block of Howard Ave. A half hour later, around 7:30 p.m., officers stopped a 20-year-old male for allegedly travelling 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on E.C. Row Expressway and Banwell Road. 

All four drivers had their vehicles impounded for 14 days and licence’s suspended for 30 days.
