McGregor Music Festival returning to Co-An Park this Sunday

Seven bands, car show and more coming June 14.

The 35th annual McGregor Music Festival returns to Co-An Park this Sunday.

The June 14 festival will feature seven bands, a pig auction, car show, a chicken and rib dinner “and a lot of fun,” said committee chair Sue LeClair.

The festival runs from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. with gates opening to the general public at 10 a.m.

Gates for the car show open at 8 a.m.

Proceeds will go to the patient assistance fund at the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.

“We find everyone needs it,” said LeClair, of why they donate to the foundation. “Everyone is affected financially.”

The proceeds are kept local, she added, and people know that thus are willing to keep supporting the festival.

“They know it’s spent on things we need as a community,” said LeClair.

The volunteer organizing committee is working hard and plans are coming together, she stated.

“We’re hopping,” said LeClair. “The prizes are coming in, the (raffle and dinner) tickets are being sold, the bands are ready. All we need is for the weather to be on our side and then we’re going to be good.”

Longevity is credited with the success of the McGregor Music Festival, as the committee has been working together for a long time and the festival sees a lot of people attend on a regular basis.

“It’s a family,” said LeClair. “It’s not just a festival, it’s a reunion.”

Admission to the McGregor Music Festival is $5 per person.

Tickets to the rib and/or chicken dinner (choice of the person buying the ticket) are $25 per person.

A concession stand is also available onsite.

Entertainment sees C2C with Charlene at 11 a.m., Crowbar Hotel at 12 noon, the All Nighters at 1 p.m., Lookin’ Back at 2 p.m., Bad Moustache at 3 p.m., the Border City Brass band at 5 p.m. and The Wellness Band at 6 p.m.

The pig auction is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
