Stormy weather

Storms came through the area last Thursday night (Sept. 3) with shelf clouds coming shortly before the heavy rain (above). Drivers had to navigate water on the roadway along Dalhousie St. after the “S” curve near the Canadian Coast Guard base was flooded for a short period of time (left). The Northern Tornadoes Project at Western University in London came down to investigate the storm and found an EF1 tornado hit both east Windsor and near Wheatley with an EF1 downburst also having occurred in the Wheatley area.
