The Gibson Gallery held the closing reception of the annual “Student Pix” exhibit last Saturday (May 30) with prizes being awarded to the top student-photographers within the Greater Essex County District School Board. Winners included Charlie Boughner (first place, primary black and white), Amelia Hamza (first place, primary colour), Nora Huver (second place, primary colour), Ellie Bastien (third place, primary colour), De’mai Miles (first place, junior black and white), Arianna Reaume (second place, junior black and white), Meliah Sabbah (third place, junior black and white), De’mai Miles (first place, junior colour), Bareeha Ali (second place, junior colour), Madeline Dawson (third place, junior colour, Selina Liu (first place, intermediate black and white), Aabis Ali (second place, intermediate black and white), Kennedy Larmond (third place, intermediate black and white), Riley Doran (first place, intermediate colour), Hayden Forsyth (second place, intermediate colour), Mya Shuttleworth (third place, intermediate colour), Ethan Villemaire (first place, senior black and white), Madilyn Wilson (second place, senior black and white), Avery Moynahan (third place, senior black and white and first place senior colour), Mohid Hanif (second place, senior colour) and Azali Kriegar (third place, senior colour.) Mya Garant (senior colour entrant) won best in show. The gallery’s current exhibit is Tatyanna’s “In the Making,” which runs until June 14.
