Trio of stunt driving charges laid

Members of the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) stated May 15 it had issued a total of 234 enforcement actions over the last four days, including three stunt driving stops Thursday, May 14.
One of those three stunt driving charges was laid in Amherstburg. An 18-year-old female was allegedly driving 130 km/hr in an 80 km/hr zone in the area of County Road 9 (Howard Ave.) and South Side Road.
The other two stops were in Windsor, including a 24-old-male allegedly driving 97 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone in the 2200 block of South Cameron Blvd. The other stop was a 22-year-old male allegedly driving 101 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone in the area of College Ave. and Huron Church Road.
According to Windsor police, all three drivers had their vehicles impounded for 14 days and their licences suspended for 30 days.
