U10 Cardinals back in action versus Tecumseh - to play next at home Aug. 5

The U10 Amherstburg Cardinals were back in action on July 21 after a long layoff due to the smoke cancellations. 

A windy night in Malden Centre saw a rock solid Tecumseh Rangers team visit the Cardinals, and walk away with an 11-5 win. 

The score does not describe the game, as this was a close affair throughout. 

The Cardinals received tremendous pitching performances from Atticus Martin, Theo Boivin and Tyler Hindermeier. The game swung in the top of the fourth however, where errors gave the Rangers four unearned runs. 

The Cardinals battled back, with Colton Garvey, Ethan Bradacs and Neil Mathieson collecting two hits apiece. 

Garvey drove in two runs, while Mathieson scored a pair of runs. 

Overall, the coaches were pleased with the effort, but bemoaned the one bad inning that has been an issue in some games this year. 

The Cardinals will now have a week off before returning to the diamond Aug. 5 for a home game against the Kingsville Knights.
