U10 Cards hit the diamond

The U10 Cardinals travelled to Chatham May 30 to play the Diamonds in a doubleheader. 

This was the Cardinals first game action of the year due to multiple rainouts. The Cardinals lost the first game 13-4, with a strong pitching performance from Brock Abraham, and Cortez McEldowney at the plate going 2-for-2. Theo Boivin chipped in with a fabulous defensive game at second base. 

In the second game, the Cardinals lost a close game 6-3. An outstanding pitching performance was given by Neil Mathieson, with Patrick Motruk and Cam DiPasquale both going 2 for 3 at the plate.

On Sunday May 31, the Cardinals travelled to Kingsville to take on the Knights. The Cardinals received fabulous pitching performances from Colton Garvey and Ethan Bradacs and won the game 11-9. 

This was a gutsy performance by the Cardinals, who hung tough in the late innings for their first win of the season. The offense was led by Parker Anderson with three hits, while Garvey, Bradacs and DiPasquale each had two hits apiece. Mathieson, Garvey and Atticus Martin each scored two runs.

The U10 Cardinals’ played June 6 at Woodslee, and their first home game is June 18 against the Lakeshore Whitecaps.
