Charges laid after alleged theft

Three people are facing charges after an alleged theft at an Amherstburg store.

Three individuals entered the Shoppers Drug Mart at 199 Sandwich St. South in Amherstburg where they allegedly selected merchandise and left the store without paying. 

Windsor police add store employees followed the individuals into the parking lot, where they got into a dark-colored van and left the area.

Following an investigation that included witness statements and video surveillance, officers were able to identify the three individuals. According to police, they were located arrested a few days later and charged with theft under $5,000.
