The holiday spirit filled Seasons Amherstburg Retirement Community as residents, their families and team members donated to its annual Holiday Food Drive, which benefitted Amherstburg Community Services (ACS).
The heartfelt initiative, which ran from Dec. 1-14, brought together community members to combat food insecurity.
"Seasons annual holiday food drive is a cherished tradition allowing us to make the holiday season brighter for those in need," said Tamasin Dineen, general manager, Seasons Amherstburg. "We are truly grateful for the incredible support from our residents, their families and our dedicated team members."

In March 2025, Canada recorded nearly 2.2 million food bank visits, an all-time high. This represents a 5.2 per cent increase from the previous year and a staggering 99 per cent jump compared to March 2019. The profile of food bank users is diverse and often surprising. Seniors aged 65 and older now account for 8.3 per cent of clients, up from 7.7 per cent in 2024.
Earlier this year, Seasons Retirement Communities in Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario hosted their annual "One Can Make a Difference Challenge." All communities collected non-perishable items to fight food insecurity in their local communities.
Seasons has proudly partnered with Food Banks Canada since 2016, and thanks to the generous efforts of its residents, their families, and team members, the organization has contributed over $350,000 in food, funds, and thousands of canned goods.
