Members of the youth and young adult organization The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, or “Rainbow Girls,” held a yard sale last month on North St. to raise money for the Alzheimer Society Windsor-Essex County chapter. As this is the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion nationwide, the Royal Canadian Legion Fort Malden Branch 157 marked the occasion with a cake as part of the July 17 fish fry. The Amherstburg Legion is celebrating its 97th anniversary this year. Executive member Sherry Vanhoorne and 1st vice president Annette Knight cut the cake July 17.
