Giving back by giving blood
Canadian Blood Services held a blood donor clinic in the downstairs community room at the Libro Centre in Amherstburg last Thursday afternoon. Marc Renaud was one of the people who turned out to give blood, with the aid of Marcia Bouwman from Canadian Blood Services. Zone & provincial winners
Olivia and Gwen Beaudoin were recognized at Royal Canadian Legion Fort Malden Branch 157 for their recent achievements in the Royal Canadian Legion’s poster and essay contest. After winning first at the local level, both girls took second place at the Zone level. In addition, Gwen’s video won first at the provincial level. Tender approved for new roof at Amherstburg Community Hub
Town council has approved the tender for a new roof at the Amherstburg Community Hub in the amount of $829,257.51 plus applicable taxes. The Amherstburg Community Hub is getting a new roof with the tender having been awarded by town council. Five sections of roof on the building at 320 Richmond St., the former St. Bernard School, will be replaced, with the tender being awarded to 2198433 Ontario Ltd. Accent Roofing and Siding in the amount of $829,257.51 plus applicable taxes
