The Fighting Island Boxing Club hosted its annual “Boxing in the Burg” card under a large tent in the parking lot at Shooters Roadhouse Sept. 12. Ten scheduled fights were part of the show, including several with local boxers in them, with demonstration bouts also part of the evening’s events. It was sanctioned by Boxing Ontario. Coaches and volunteers with AMBA played a friendly game at Bill Wigle Park Sept. 2. Coaches and volunteers with the Amherstburg Minor Baseball Association (AMBA) got a chance to put what they preached into practice. It was the coaches and association volunteers who took the diamond this time in a friendly, season-ending game at Bill Wigle Park. Submitted photo The Malden Ladies two-pitch league is coming to an end for this season and its executive is pleased with how it went. The league’s best-of-three finals started last Wednesday evening at Malden Centre Park, two days after it was supposed to due to a rain-out. Games this season typically took place Monday evenings but game nights expanded to include Wednesday evenings
