Led by Candace Zimmerman’s Grade 6/7 class, students and staff and Stella Maris Catholic Elementary School held a food drive for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Following a remarkably successful debut that raised $14,000 for the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, the Amherstburg Fights Cancer community fundraiser is back and aiming even higher. The second annual event will take place Nov. 28 from 4-9 p.m. at the AMA Sportsmen Association, located at 468 Lowes Side Road. Organized by local cancer survivor Norm Mickle of Buckingham Realty, Amherstburg, the evening is designed to offer hope, celebrate survivors and generate vital funds

Royal Canadian Legion Fort Malden Br. 157 held a Sunday breakfast Nov. 1 with Sutton Funeral Home sponsoring the veterans that attended. Sutton paid for the veterans breakfasts.
