There are many issues facing this town in the upcoming election, and the future of baseball in Amherstburg is one of them. Since its’ revival in 2021, the Amherstburg Minor Baseball Association (AMBA) has grown exponentially. This year, we have 300 kids playing baseball in Amherstburg, and our projections for next year are between 350-400 (and that is a modest projection). Countless volunteers, parents and coaches have given much time and energy to make the AMBA a success.

This article that I am writing about is the Open Air Weekends. This Open Air Weekends have been debated by council for the last few years. My suggestion is why don’t we put this question to the voters? The Windsor Police Service has charged a 41-year-old man following an investigation into the sexual assault complaint regarding a youth. Police says that on Aug. 16, shortly after 2 p.m., officers with Windsor Police Amherstburg Detachment responded to a report of a sexual assault involving a 15-year-old girl.
